Edweard Muybridge was a 19th-century photographer known for his innovative work in capturing motion through sequential images, which inspired my animated GIF. I chose a dark alley as the background to create a sense of fear and suspense, and used a cat as the subject to reflect a sudden, eerie encounter. Using Adobe Photoshop, I removed the background from the cat images, arranged them in a sequence to show movement, and animated the frames through the Timeline window. My goal was to create a smooth, realistic motion, and I want the audience to notice the calm, subtle pacing just before the cat jumps—adding tension and enhancing the dramatic effect, much like Muybridge’s motion studies.

The title of my GIF is Antonelli. I was inspired to create it after watching the Dutch Grand Prix, where Antonelli collided with Charles Leclerc, and seeing the wave of memes that came from that moment. I wanted to capture the energy of the race and the humor it sparked online through animation. What I am most proud of is the smoothness of the GIF, as I focused on making the movement feel natural and fluid. If I were to improve it next time, I would add more impact frames to make the collision feel even more dynamic and intense.
